"Revenge of the Vegetarian" by Jim Tilberry

"Revenge of the Vegetarian" by author, Jim Tilberry, is a humorous book which had both myself and my daughter laughing out loud. Not only are his words hilarious, but the illustrations are just as funny. I must say that his first attempt to write anything longer than a grocery list was a roaring success. Any book that can keep my attention beyond the first chapter clearly deserves a standing ovation. Maybe it's the variety, as there are Veggie Quizzes, Vegetarian Horoscopes and Hilarious Interviews with Famous Dead & Alive Animals and People. I kid you not.

I'm in love with Jim's witty style. I think he may be my brother from another mother. I got the biggest kick out of his neighbor Randy's diet diary. Jim convinced Randy to give the Vegetarian diet a try and asked him to keep a diary. Day after day after day, Randy messes up in one way or another whether on accident or on purpose from eating Pepperoni on his pizza, to forgetting when he woke up and eating eggs with bacon. The best part is when Randy gave Jim his first week of diary to review. Jim told Randy he was doing great and to keep up the good work. Then admits he was quite busy and never actually read Randy's diary. Ha!

Then there's the back cover. I'm not gonna lie, I haven't read a back cover since 3rd grade when I pretended to read a book for a report and got called out in front of the whole classroom. But, this back cover caught my attention and I'm so glad it did. It may just be my favorite part of the whole book. I'd tell you why, but I must leave you yearning for more so you'll go buy the book! So here's your chance, I promise you won't be disappointed:
