::: Granny's Old Fashioned Pound Cake :::

Welcome to Granny's Corner! You are in for a treat Pinterest Fanatics. Granny is passing along our Family Recipe for Old Fashioned Pound Cake drizzled in Real Fudge Icing. She brought over her recipe handwritten on a piece of paper so old it had turned brown and was literally falling apart. Along with smiling faces and happy bellies, this was the result...

You will need:
2 Sticks of Whipped Margarine or Butter
1/2 cup Crisco
3 cups Sugar
5 Eggs
1 cup Milk
3 cups Swansdown Cake Flour
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Cream the Sugar, Butter and Crisco until fluffy. Add the Eggs one at a time beating each one as you add them. Add Milk and Flour mixing in a little bit at a time. Add the Vanilla Extract. Mix on high speed for 3 minutes until well blended. Then bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Real Fudge Icing
You will need:
2 cups Sugar
2/3 cup Milk
1/4 cup Cocoa
1/2 cup Crisco
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla

Mix all ingredients together except for the Vanilla. Bring to a full boil - and allow it to boil for two minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add Vanilla. Pour into mixer and beat on medium speed for exactly 5 minutes. Drizzle over cooled pound cake quickly before it hardens.

I hope your family enjoys this recipe as much as we do. I can't wait to hear your feedback. Enjoy and Happy Pinning.
