::: Meatless Mondays - Baked French Toast Casserole :::




Hello Sweet Friends,
My kids LOVE French Toast, so I knew I had to make my own Baked French Toast Casserole when I started spotting them on Pinterest.

You will need:
1/2 a loaf of sourdough bread {I use Pepperidge Farm}
5 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 Tbsp. vanilla

For the Topping:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1 stick of butter

Grease your Casserole Dish {I use a 9" x 13"}, then tear the bread into pieces. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, white sugar, milk, cream and vanilla together and pour evenly over the bread. You will want to store this in the fridge for several hours {I store mine overnight}.

In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Next slice the butter in... I like to get my butter closer to room temperature, then it is a little easier to turn into a crumbly mixture. Place your crumb topping mixture into a sandwich bag and refrigerate.

When you are ready to bake, preheat the over to 350 degrees. Remove your Casserole and Crumb Mixture Topping and sprinkle the topping over the Bread evenly. Bake for 45 minutes for a softer Casserole, 1 hour for firm.


Prepare to enjoy, this Casserole is absolutely delicious!!

  2. Oh how I love this idea for Christmas morning. So much easier than french toast piece by piece and sweet so the stocking candy doesn't become breakfast!
